Update: this event has passed. Several people showed up to voice concerns. The Council voted to override the vetoed legislative bill 2024-06 regarding motor vehicle use on county property. Safari at the Quarry occurred because an MOU that was signed between a private entity and the County Executive without Public or Council input. This MOU with Safari at the Quarry came about without any of the required transparency or fairness of opportunity. During this Public Comment, watch as residents voice concern for a MOU that was created in a similar way, between Wicomico County and Eastern Shore Undercover LLC. Sheriff Mike Lewis of Wicomico County discusses the many issues with the MOU including encryption, safety, and transparency among others. Sheriffs from Worcester, Dorchester, and Somerset were in attendance and voiced their agreement with Mike Lewis. Sheriff Lewis proposes that the Council explore legal options to challenge the MOU.

We will be voicing our concern for the "Safari at the Quarry" events (held at the proposed Connelly Mill Park property) and for the restoration of the plans for Connelly Mill Park. We will also be voicing our support to override the 2024-06 motor vehicle legislation that Executive Giordano vetoed.
